Building Process
The first step is to meet the client and get acquainted. The relationship between builder and homeowner is very important and will make the building process enjoyable and successful. The months of building should not be a stressful time.
We will discuss your ideas, wishes and make those dreams into a reality. I am a custom builder therefore you will have a home that is original and tailored to your lifestyle. The most rewarding comment made by my homeowners is, “this house is so much better than we anticipated”. It takes a leap of faith to build a house that you have never seen as a model home or walked through before.
he next step is to visit the property. I like to consider all of the aspects of exposures and the views to best accommodate the new house. I will take your ideas and requests to sketch a preliminary floor plan for your first review. After we finalize the floor plan, I will draft a set of plans to submit for bids by the subcontractors. There is no cost for the first sketch or consultation.
My philosophy “treat people the way you would like to be treated” is why I structure my building contract as “I will build your house at cost plus my fixed contractor’s fee”. I think that is as fair as a builder can be. Communication and honesty is how I wish to build with you.
You will receive all copies of invoices for materials and labor for your review and records. You have the flexibility to spend modestly or upgrade where it is important to you. However, if you multiply $130.00 per total square feet plus my fixed fee, which will depend on the complexity of the project, is a general idea of cost for a totally upgraded house.
There is no middle man or salesperson to deal with. You and I will be partners during the next 6 to 10 months. Building can be a great experience! Call me and let’s chat!
